MUNCIE - Georgia F. Reber, 96, died Tuesday afternoon, December 21, 2004 at Ball Memorial Hospital, after a sudden illness.

She was born May 22, 1908 in Wells County. She later moved to Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1927.

Georgia married Donald H. Reber, founder of Reber Machine and Tool Company, who died in October of 1974. For many years Georgia was an owner and officer of Reber Machine and Tool Company.

Donald and Georgia traveled the world extensively, which heightened her appreciation of America.

She maintained a keen interest in world events.

When her grandchildren were young, Georgia delighted them with an Easter egg hunt for several years. At one time she was active in bridge clubs, International Travel Study Club and Matinee Musical.

She was an accomplished seamstress. Georgia enjoyed time spent at her hobby farm, including planting and harvesting a garden each year.

In recent years she made an afghan for each son, daughter-in-law, grandchild, and great-grandchild.

Georgia hosted a neighborhood Christmas party many times, most recently on December 8, 2004.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three sons, Don E. Reber (wife-Virginia), David Reber (wife-Evelyn Mary) and Jack Reber (wife-Janelle); eleven grandchildren, Craig Reber (wife-Susan), Neil Reber, Terry Reber, Lisa Rhoads (husband-Dusty), Alan Reber (wife-Glenda), Elaine Simmons (husband-Mark), Douglas Reber (wife-Nina), Laura Bahler (husband-Gary), Nancy Rector (husband-Dr. Jeff), Phillip Reber (wife-Janet) and Thomas Reber; twenty-two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alice, five sisters and a brother.

Services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory with Dr. Ronald Naylor, officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.

Visitation will be at the mortuary from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service.
