Kenneth M. Harrold, 83
Kenneth M. Harrold, 83, a retired farmer and Franklin Electric Co. worker, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Harrold, who had resided the past three years at the United Methodist Memorial Home at Warren, formerly lived at 1841E County Rd. 200S, where he had engaged in farming. He retired also in 1981 from Franklin Electric. He was a disabled veteran of U.S. Army service during World War II. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Oak Leaf Cluster for bravery in battle during the war. He was a 1937 graduate of Chester Center High School in 1937. He was born in Wells County Jan. 6, 1919, to Elmer and Nellie Williamson Harrold. His marriage at Mt. Zion on March 3, 1946 was to Blenda L. Mowery, who died Feb. 20, 2000. Surviving are a son, Linus K. of Bluffton; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth L. (Janis) Deam of Lagrange; a brother, Dee of Bluffton; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Ethel) Couch and Mrs. Richard (Thelma) Brown, both of Warren; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Heimach officiating. Burial will be in Stahl Cemetery at Petroleum. Calling hours at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday for one hour prior to services. Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church youth group.
